"My favorite part by far about riding is the community."

Being from Idaho, the outdoors is ingrained in me. When we weren’t screaming at each other playing cards, you could find my dad and I fishing, camping, or hunting. I was lucky enough to learn to ride dirt bikes and four-wheelers in the shadow of the Tetons. That’s where I developed a deep love and respect for the remoteness of the Rocky Mountain backcountry. In high school, I was introduced to a 1974 BMW R90/6 by my friend's dad. Since then, I knew that on two wheels was where I was meant to be. When I moved to San Diego I bought my first R1200GS. Nothing is more challenging and satisfying than getting that behemoth through the unpredictable terrain of the Southern California desert. For over a decade it’s weaved through lanes of traffic and been stuck in the sand more times than I can count. But my favorite part by far about riding is the community. You meet some wacky and wonderful people on the road; some of them turn into hilarious campfire stories and some become the very people that surround your campfire. There’s no community like the ADV community.
